When my mother was dying, many days I felt overwhelmed, and I wondered at times if God knew how much my mother was suffering. Many days I was so tired at night that I collapsed into bed with my only prayer being "help me." I'm sure God understood. If we could see life with an eternal perspective, we would recognize that God helps us, strengthens us, and comforts us much more than we realize.
